Test delivery options

How you deliver your tests is an important decision and should not be constrained by a single test delivery method. Thanks to technological advances and improved testing techniques you can securely deliver high-stakes tests virtually anywhere there is an Internet connection. Webassassor supports four distinct test delivery models that allow you to extend the reach of your tests and build your own customized test delivery channel. Select from any or all of our test delivery methods to compliment and expand your current options.

Unproctored/Practice Tests

Many organizations provide practice tests or non-graded quizzes as part of their testing strategy. Webassessor supports the creation, delivery and automated scoring of these types of tests. Test Takers simply log on to your customized testing page and launch the test or quiz any time you allow. Although unproctored, these tests can still benefit from a variety of test security measures that can deter and detect cheating.

Unproctored tests are at the the heart of online testing. They are convenient for the Test Taker or student and inexpensive to maintain and deliver. Although these tests are not proctored, you still can enjoy a comfortable level of security. Data streams are encrypted with 128 bit encryption technology and all student and test data is protected behind a rigorous secure firewall.

The first step in providing an unproctored test is defining the data fields for your Test Taker account. As a standard step in our implementation process, we work with you to customize not only the data fields for your Test Taker database, but we help you create the customized e-mail communications and even the look and feel of the Test Taker web pages so they are an extension of your brand.

Next, the students/Test Takers log on to the site and provide any demographic information you require for their student account. Finally, they select the tests or quizzes that you have made available to them. Their tests are automatically scored and you can either allow them to see their results right away or manually score some of the questions and return the results later.

With the foundation of an unproctored testing infrastructure, you are ready to add additional levels of security and test delivery options.

Client Proctored Tests

Many organizations employ a testing strategy where test delivery is provided through a private testing network such as resellers and partners or at annual meetings. Whether you prefer to deliver your tests through your own permanent, private testing network or via temporary testing locations at well-suited events, Webassessor is an ideal tool to help you support and manage the entire process. In these situations we provide the software and you provide the hardware and the proctors.

Many organizations prefer to administer their tests using their own equipment and proctors. Whether they are academic institutions with staffed testing centers, commercial organizations testing through field offices, resellers or even professional associations who test at regional events - Webassessor is designed to facilitate the test delivery method that is best for you.

Much like unproctored tests, you define what data fields you need for your Test Taker accounts, you define the automated e-mail communications and even the look and feel of the Test Taker web pages.

Once the system has been set up, your proctors are trained on how to securely launch a testing session. Test administrators can immediately access the data onsite or at a distance and run a variety of reports. An important aspect of these Client Proctored testing situations is that they can be permanent or temporary. Regardless of the physical location, Webassessor can effectively and securely deliver your tests when and where you want.

High-stakes Online Secured Testing (HOST) Location Proctored Tests

The testing industry has been built on a foundation of high-quality commercial testing centers. For those clients who desire a traditional test delivery strategy that includes a network of authorized locations with trained and certified proctors, we provide the High-stakes Online Secured Testing or HOST Location network. These hand picked locations provide the convenience of a wide geographic coverage and the professionalism you have come to expect from a third-party testing center.

Depending on the needs of the testing situation, certain clients prefer to use professional testing locations to deliver and manage their tests. For those clients who desire a fixed network of authorized locations with trained and certified proctors, we provide the KRYTERION High-stakes Online Secured Testing (HOST) Location Network.

These HOST locations meet the highest quality of service standards and provide an objective third-party perspective to each of the testing sessions which can mitigate the motivation to collude with Test Takers.

Each geographically distributed HOST location maintains up-to-date hardware and works with KRYTERION to ensure a professional and positive testing experience for each Test Taker.

To maintain test security, HOST Locations receive tests one question at a time and no personal or test data is ever stored on local machines. If there is ever an Internet disruption, the Test Taker can simply restart the test where they left off - even if it's at a separate location.

Online Proctored Tests

Webassessor(TM) Online Secured Testing Technology provides innovative options to securely and conveniently deliver online tests. Whether you want to deliver your tests at your sites, via our network of High-stakes Online Secure Testing (HOST) Locations, or where your Test Takers live, learn or work, Webassessor makes it possible for you to extend the reach of your tests to meet your specific program needs. Our latest innovative test delivery option is the patent-pending Online Proctored Testing. This option continuously monitors testing sessions to deter and detect aberrant behaviors - including cheating - while creating a testing session log consisting of audio, video, biometric, and other testing event data. Online KRYTERION Certified Proctors (KCP) monitor the Test Takers in real-time and take appropriate client-approved actions.
